The Challenge

Harvard ManageMentor® had spent over two decades as a trusted engine for leadership development, but as user expectations and technology raced ahead, the platform needed to evolve without losing what made it credible. The challenge was honoring a deeply established legacy while rebuilding its foundation to be modern, accessible, and scalable — avoiding the risk of alienating a loyal, global user base in the process.

Our Approach

We took a Design System approach to the entire product, systematically addressing every component, variable, and configuration to create a cohesive and maintainable foundation. Accessibility was built in from the start — not retrofitted — with AA-Level WCAG compliance ensuring the platform is inclusive for every learner. Alongside the system work, we redesigned the course navigation and learning experience to align with the interaction patterns and expectations of today's users.

The Solution

The reimagined Harvard ManageMentor® delivers a seamless, modern learning experience backed by a robust and scalable design system. Learners now navigate course content more intuitively, while the accessible-first foundation ensures every leader — regardless of ability — can fully engage with the platform. The design system also gives the product team the consistency and speed needed to continue iterating at scale.
